Max Alletzhauser is a poet, essayist, and translator based in Stockholm.
As a writer, his leading interests lie in life-writing, formalism, 20th century Anglo-American literary history, and the urge towards self-reflection. In early 2022 he collaborated with the Johannesburg artist Sam Kentridge on The Veil, an illustrated book of twelve poems released in a limited edition.
In his translations, he works from Swedish to English within literature and the arts. His commissioning clients include the Royal Institute of Art, Magasin III and Transit. He is currently translating of a collection of Swedish poetry, and has recieved grants from Kulturrådet, Stiftelsen Längmanska kulturfonden and Helge Ax:son Johnsons stiftelse.
He was born and raised in South Africa, and educated in the United States.
